Why You Need To Pay
When you sign your tenancy agreement you have entered into a contract with the Association which means we provide you with a home that you have pledged to pay for.
The income generated from rent pays for the repairs service and improvement works such as kitchen/bathroom replacements as outlined in our 5 year asset strategy programme. It also contributes to other service areas such as estate management, letting homes, dealing with anti-social behaviour and administration.
Without rental income we would not be able to deliver these services.
Rents are reviewed annually, and tenant's consultation takes place between December - February, each year. In the 2017/18 rent consultation period, we contacted and recieved feedback from 200 tenatns, (25%) and in 2018/19 we consulted with 197 tenants (24.9%). For the 2nd year running, we a have achieved one of the highest consultations results in Scotland.
Tenants are encouraged to complete the feedback form we send out with the consultation to provide their views on the proposed increase. The Association's rent increases have consistently been below the average for our sector.
