A defect becomes an emergency when there is a threat to safety or property, or loss of essential services. Some examples of emergency repairs are: a gas leak; a burst pipe; no electricity; no toilet facilities; no heating in winter; broken door lock; broken window.
Emergency repairs will normally be made safe within 6 hours and the repair will normally be completed within 1-3 working days.
